Who am I?

I've been practicing therapy since 2018 and have worked with people of different ages, abilities, backgrounds, and needs. I believe healing is a lifelong relationship for individuals and communities, and I think of myself a steward of individual and community healing. I strive to co-create a therapy space of safety, honesty, informed consent, curiosity, and nurturing. In therapy, we will explore your wounds and the ways you’ve survived, adapted, and protected yourself. We will explore your desires for change and sources of generativity and resilience. We will explore oppressive systems  and

ways of thinking and being that are born from it. We will look at how to heal within a sick cultural system and how to transform patterns of harm.

I try to take a survivor-centered and anti-oppression approach to my work. I specialize in working with individuals who have engaged in violence and survived violence, which unfortunately includes many of us who are living in the conditions of racial capitalism, white cis hetero patriarchy, and ongoing colonization. As a mixed Alaska Native Unangax and white, 2 Spirit, disabled, queer, and nonbinary person, I bring my experiences and identities to my therapy practice. I'm committed to my own growth and healing, and showing up authentically, ethically, and responsibly in my professional and personal communities. I practice robust COVID precautions as community care and encourage all to do so.

Therapeutically, I use approaches including Internal Family Systems and parts work, mindfulness/somatic, EMDR, and Cognitive/Behavioral therapies. I recognize that much of these modalities has been appropriated from Indigenous cultures and developed by and within oppressive systems. I am committed to respecting and integrating non-Western approaches to healing and Indigenizing my own wherever possible and invited. I strive to partner with my clients to identify and grow what serves them and community and transform what does not.

I have two master’s degrees in social work and education with a focus in clinical sex therapy. In 2022 I completed a PhD in Human Sexuality Studies focusing on the connection between sexual fantasies and behavior. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate and Certified Sex Offense Treatment Provider.
